Outreach/Business Development

New Horizon Counseling Center’s Outreach/Business Development team serves as the Agency’s Community Liaison, building strong partnerships with communities, health care and service providers, organizations, businesses, and other trusted partners across New York City, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. These relationships help people learn about services, connect with care, and receive coordinated support based on their needs, backgrounds, cultures, languages, and goals.

We work to close gaps in care and improve access for underserved communities, historically marginalized populations, and people who may face language, cultural, social, economic, or other barriers to services. By listening to communities and building trusted relationships, we work to better understand local needs, reach special populations, and connect people with services and supports that fit their individual needs and circumstances.

Outreach is a two-way partnership. We build strong referral pathways to and from community partners, providers, and other organizations so people can connect with the right care and support. We also help communities and referral partners learn about New Horizon’s full range of services, including behavioral health care for mental health and substance use concerns, care coordination, developmental disability services, older adult programs, and Alzheimer’s and dementia supports.

Our team also provides community education and psychoeducation to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and help people recognize when support may be needed. We share information with community members, families, providers, and organizations that may come into contact with people who could benefit from care. Through collaboration, education, health fairs and ongoing partnerships, we work to strengthen connections across systems, improve coordinated care, and make it easier for people to learn about, find and receive the services and supports they need.
