Meeting Place Clubhouse is a supportive, caring and respectful member-driven community resource empowering adults with mental illness living in Nassau County and bordering Queens communities to make significant changes in their lives by achieving desired goals leading to wellness, personal growth and autonomy. Members are connected with individually tailored trainings, supports and opportunities focused on a variety of important concerns including finding meaningful work, continuing education, building support systems and friendships, improving access to entitlements and understanding housing options.
Members are able to address emotional, social and job preparation challenges, making them better prepared to successfully achieve their goals and promote workplace retention. The Clubhouse community helps each member reduce the stigma and low self-worth often experienced by individuals coping with aspects of their mental illness.
Onsite socialization groups provide members with opportunities to identify, assess and improve their life skills in a variety of areas. Frequently, social and recreational activities occur in the community and may include visiting local restaurants, attending sporting events, going to the movies, shopping and picnicking at one of our local parks. As a member-driven program, the members play an integral role in the Clubhouse’s programming.
Services Offered:
The Clubhouse offers Zoom groups twice daily, at 11:30am and 2:00pm. The service is free to members and available to all interested. Feel free to design your schedule and attend as many groups as you would like!
The Clubhouse also offers phone outreach and support both individually and through teleconference groups.
