You may have questions about why your loved one needs home care management. If you’ve previously participated in residential or outpatient treatment programs, you know that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all solution. New Horizon Counseling Center’s knowledgeable patient-centered team recognizes that not all patients recover from an addiction to drugs and alcohol in the same way.
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health report that an integrative treatment approach can help your loved one overcome a difficult substance abuse problem. Quality of life is an important consideration in recovering from addiction.
For many New Horizon patients, home-based treatments may be the best place to recover from opioid use disorders, benzodiazepine dependency, cocaine use disorders, or alcohol use disorders.
Opioid Use Disorders Treatment
Buprenorphine treatment for Opioid Use Disorders (OUDs) and chronic pain are unfortunately common issues in today’s society. With professional help from New Horizon, our patients can overcome street drugs or prescription opioids. If your problems with drug overuse began when a doctor or surgeon prescribed opioids for pain, you’re not alone. It’s not too late to stop your dependency on these seemingly benign drugs.
Benzodiazepine Addiction Treatment
Benzodiazepine drugs, such as Xanax (Alprazolam), Diazepam (Valium), Ativan (Lorazepam), Restoril (Temazepam) and others are addictive prescription drugs. Some patients develop a dependence on benzodiazepine drugs after they’re prescribed by a physician for PTSD, anxiety, or panic attacks.
Patients typically trust their doctors and don’t understand the potential to become addicted to these drugs over time. Sadly, few people with addiction to benzodiazepine drugs became addicted because they used these drugs for recreational purposes.
New Horizon can help you end a benzodiazepine dependency, use disorder, or addiction. If you’ve tried to stop using benzos on your own, you may suffer from restlessness, recurrent anxiety, insomnia, mood swings, gastrointestinal upset, or have difficulty focusing your attention.
New Horizon Counseling Center can help you manage withdrawal symptoms with integrative home-based benzodiazepine treatment. Our intensive outpatient treatment includes both medical care and medication-assisted support, including:
- Integrative/functional medical care
- Medical testing, diagnosis, and treatment
- Medical nutritional support
- Individual/group therapy
- Custom psycho-pharmacology support
Each patient program is developed based on New Horizon’s comprehensive evaluation and your individual needs. New Horizon supports your independence in treatment.
Cocaine Use Disorders
Cocaine Use Disorder occurs when an individual repeatedly uses cocaine and develops a compulsion or psychological need to use cocaine. It’s diagnosed in individuals whose persistent cocaine use causes medical, social, academic, or occupational impairments. Cocaine and other amphetamine-like chemicals are categorized as stimulants. Overuse of stimulants may be diagnosed as a Stimulant Use Disorder.
People may become familiar with cocaine use in social settings. It is often used with alcohol. At first, cocaine use promotes the user’s sexual enjoyment, greater energy, and sociability. As the user continues, cocaine usage can become a compulsion that results in negative consequences, including economic or occupational problems, disinhibition, anger (antagonistic behavior), cognitive problems and impairments, depression, anxiety, weight loss, fatigue, insomnia, weight loss, seizures, stroke, or heart failure.
Integrative cocaine use treatment is available at home from New Horizon Counseling Center.
Alcohol Use Disorders
New Horizon Counseling Center’s treatment programs allow you to stay at home or in an informal supervised environment. Some patients recover faster and with greater ease when they’re surrounded by the familiar comforts of home. Instead of a traditional 30 to 90-day residential alcohol use disorder program, New Horizon creates an individual program of the duration most appropriate to reach your goals. Each patient receives medical supervision. It’s possible to combine New Horizon’s professional program with external peer support, e.g. AA or Refuge Recovery.
Each patient is unique. If your loved one requires more supervision or support, our supervised rehab, inpatient, or residential programs are available.
